INESC TEC is a private non-profit research institution with 35 years of experience in R&D and technology transfer, dedicated to scientific research and technological development, technology transfer, advanced consulting and training, and pre-incubation of new technology-based companies. As an institution operating at the interface of the academic and business worlds, INESC TEC typically applies the knowledge and results generated as part of its research in technology transfer projects, seeking value creation and immediate social relevance. INESC TEC incorporates 13 R&D Centres, structured in four thematic domains – Computer Science, Industry and Innovation, Networked Intelligent Systems, and Power and Energy. INESC TEC hosts over 750 integrated researchers (about 350 PhDs). INESC TEC will participate in this project with the Centre of Telecommunications and Multimedia, which consists of 100+ researchers addressing scientific and technological challenges related with the fields of telecommunications and multimedia, with 30 PhDs in total, bringing to the project a team with a track record in antenna and antenna array design, including low cost reflect-arrays, circuit modelling of semiconductor devices, reconfigurable electronics using FPGAs and design and characterization of electronic circuits, specifically oxide-based memristors and transistors and their dynamic behaviour modelling.

The University of Oulu (UO) is an international science university that creates new knowledge, well-being and innovations for the future through research and education. In the Converge Project, UO is participating through the Center for Wireless Communications (CWC) and the Center for Machine Vision and Signal Analysis (CMVS), two internationally recognized laboratories that create new technology in cooperation with the most significant R&D organizations and industry in the field of wireless communications and computer vision. The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is one of the leading supercomputing centres in Europe and houses one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world, MareNostrum 5. Its speciality is high-performance computing, also known as HPC (High Performance Computing). Its function is twofold: to provide supercomputing infrastructure and services to Spanish and European scientists, and to generate knowledge and technology for transfer to society. The BSC Consortium is composed of the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities of the Government of Spain (60%), the Department of Research and Universities of the Catalan Government (30%), and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (10%). The centre manages the Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES) and is the host entity of EuroHPC JU, the European initiative leading large-scale investments and the provision of HPC in Europe.

EURECOM is a leading teaching and research institution in the fields of Information and Communication technologies. EURECOM was founded in 1991 as a consortium of renowned academic and industrial partners. EURECOM’s research teams are made up of international experts, recruited at the highest level, whose work is regularly honored and has earned international recognition. Priority has been given to three fields of research: Digital Security, Data Science and Communication Systems. EURECOM participates in numerous EU and nationally funded collaborative research projects in these areas. It is a member and participates in standardization activities within organization such as ETSI, 3GPP and O-RAN. It is a member of the SLICES ESFRI Research Infrastructure and maintains a state-of-art facility for experimentation in wireless communications and computing. Adaptech is a Biomedical company that works in the development of solutions that uses ML and AI to process data from biosensors used in prosthetic components by lower limb amputees. This system generates metrics and reports, aiding doctors in correctly assigning the components and determine the amputee functional level. This way we ensure that patients can have access to components that are suitable for their life and that insurance companies have a positive ROI on their investment. The system also analyzes activity patterns, foreseeing potential issues in the residual limb through biosensor changes and behavior patterns and enables remote and proactive medicine. The main objective is to provide patients a better life by helping medical teams to ensure their recover and wealth being.

Finwe Oy was founded in 2006 as a spin-off from the Technical Research Centre of Finland, VTT. Finwe team has extensive experience in international research and product development for various industries. We have been working on 360° video playback, VR, AR, XR since 2012 and we have developed a multiplatform 360° Video and AI engine, Orion360™, that has been licensed to hundreds of VR, 360° video and industrial applications. Some of these have millions of users. We have also delivered one of the first 5G 360° live streaming solutions in collaboration with Nokia and other industrial partners. Finwe have previous experience of building virtual spaces / digital twins with engines including Unity, Babylon.js and Three.js, from single rooms to larger rural areas using CAD/BIM models, open data, aerial photography, laser scans, in-house photogrammetry and videogrammetry, as well as manual 3D modeling. We have previously added 3D data visualizations related to 5G network and 360° live streams from moving remote controlled robots to digital twins.
